We are up and running!

We are up and running!

We’ve been operational again for about a month now and it’s fantastic to be back. We’d like to give a big shout out to Lambeth Council for helping us resolve a few maintenance issues to make sure that the facilities are in the best possible condition for all of our users. The immediate plans now include

  • strengthening the management committee, and particularly recruiting LOCAL members
  • appointing a new caretaker
  • working with Lambeth to develop and improve what’s on offer at the hall
  • planning on long-term improvements to the building,
  • working towards charitable status for our management committee

If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you.

When Will We Reopen?

When Will We Reopen?

Understandably, many of our regular hirers are keen to come back and are asking when we will reopen. Also, people are emerging from lockdown and starting to plan family events, weddings, baby showers, and all the other lovely celebrations that we’re so used to hosting at Wheatsheaf.

We’re also keen to reopen our doors to all of you, but there are a few things we need to get in place before this can happen. We need to get the building tested for Legionnaires, check the fire safety situation, and install all the Covid security features that we’re going to need to operate safely. We also have to update our Terms and Conditions of Hire in order to reflect the new way we will all be using Wheatsheaf. This will all take us a while to organise.

If you’d like to be among the first to know when we’re reopening, please hop over to our mailing list page and sign up.

Covid-19 Update – July 2020

We are still closed, sadly, but we are now working towards being able to reopen in August 2020, while observing government guidelines with regard to the pandemic. All regular hirers will be contacted shortly with details of how we hope to reintroduce activities to the Wheatsheaf. If you would like to hear about our plans for reopening, we recommend you join our mailing list, as this is how we will most likely be announcing details.

Emails continue to be monitored twice a week, although it’s currently not possible to contact us by phone. Prospective new hirers are able to book viewings, most weekday mornings, with a little advance notice.

Covid-19 Update

We are very sorry to announce, that in light of the latest Government advice, we are not taking any bookings as of today, 17 March 2020, until further notice.

If you need to cancel your event, please let us know, and we will refund all deposits as soon as we can.
