Welcome To Wheatsheaf
The Wheatsheaf Hall has been a community venue since 1988 when members of the local community leased the building from the Council. It was awarded Grade II listed status in 1975 and is run by volunteers.
The three main spaces are in constant demand by choirs, orchestras, faith groups, exercise classes, fencing masters, and, of course, couples celebrating weddings.
A volunteer management committee manages and maintains the hall and is made up of representatives from the neighbouring Mawbey Brough and Wyvil Estates. Recently the committee has been joined by user groups, and some young professionals who are sharing their expertise to help guide the organisation through the process of becoming a registered charity. If you are interested in joining the group, please get in touch.

affordable spaces, timeless atmosphere
In the Heart of Vauxhall
We are located between Vauxhall and Stockwell stations on the Victoria Line, and close to Vauxhall mainline station. A fast and freqent bus service passes the hall down South Lambeth Road.
This is our main space. It’s used by orchestras, choirs, dramatic societies, schools, for exhibitions, exercise classes, fencing, filming, you name it. Oh, and weddings. Lots, and lots of weddings.
The main hall is in use most weekends during the summer, for weddings and other big celebrations. To arrange a viewing, please email us
We have a recently refurbished kitchen for hire with either the main or the small hall. It has a double range and oven, a fridge freezer, hot water urns, and a useful serving hatch into the main hall.
Our first floor meeting room seats up to 12, and is equipped with a flat screen smart TV for your presentations, a whiteboard, and a flipchart and stand.
There’s free wifi access throughout the building, with a booster in the meeting room. With enough notice, we can order you refreshments from Ana’s Cafe on South Lambeth Road.
The Small Hall on the first floor is ideal for small exercise classes, parties, recitals and seminars.
